Donald Anthony DiPentima, 75, passed away peacefully in his home on January 6, 2023, after a six-year battle with cancer. He was born in The Bronx on April 30, 1947, to the late Louisa and Donato DiPentima. He attended and graduated from Deer Park High School, where he was a member of the ROTC, before heading off to the University of Oklahoma. An avid baseball fan, Don spent many of his days at the ballfield or watching his beloved Red Sox on television. He passed that passion for sports onto his children, spending time coaching, mentoring, and enjoying his children's sporting events. Don also had an interest in aerospace which led him to a career with Bendix Corporation. With the mechanical knowledge acquired at Bendix, Don moved on to a career with Marine Max. Later, Don relocated from his longtime home in Florida to a house that he designed himself in Ellijay, Georgia where he fully embraced mountain life, relishing in the peace and quiet away from the city. Don is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rosemary, and their two children Ryan and Tyler, Ryan's wife Jordan, and his granddaughter Isabella. Don also is survived by his son John, his wife Sandra, and his grandson Justin, and Don's daughter Stephanie, her husband Mike and his three grandchildren, Isabel, Gracie and Ben, his sister Julie, her husband Don, and his 4 nieces and their families.
